The sun series actually started with a commission work which was inspired by Ruprecht Geiger, a famous German post-war color field painter. The small sized paintings show a bright colorful circle in the center. The circle is a symbol with extensive meaning. It represents wholeness, original perfection, eternity, and of course the sun. The sun paintings express the energy of life, positivity and clarity.
mirror series
People have always been fascinated with their reflections. In the visual art the mirror has been interpreted as an instrument to show admiration or self-admiration. But can you admire yourself if you don’t see the details on the surface anymore? The mostly large mirror paintings in this series show the viewer in a distorted manner. The spectator dives into the painting and becomes a two dimensional blurry part of it while standing infront and viewing it. The reflected transformation also slows down the flow of time. In this moment you can’t see your age or beauty or expressions of feelings. It makes the viewer get lost in a space between time, reality and reflection.
